Purchased for lunches - was intrigued by the variety of types, salads, grains bowls, rice bowls, meats and pictures are great. We have worked through about half the book so far and have not really enjoyed most of them. Probably won't make any of them a second time. Portions are often too large and many are a bit bland or out of balance. Thick "sauces" in bottom of jar are a bit hard to retrieve although a couple have been tasty (ex. Mediteranean rice bowl ). There are better versions of a few recipes in other books.

Some of the soups are not good as a minute made lunch, such as the Asian Vegetable and Tofu Soup? It tasted bad because the flavors didn't have time to combine, so be careful which you choose to take or you'll end up stuck having to buy something or go without. I suggest trying it at home first.

Overall great ideas ...however it would have been nice to have more pictures of the recepes.

This is a great meals in jars recipe book. I've enjoyed making lunches and dinners on Sundays that I can eat for several days throughout the week. Well worth the purchase price and a good addition to any modern cook book library.

I was looking for meals I can pack for my diabetic husband to carry to work, where he is not allowed to use the (communal???) fridge to store his lunch. I can easily fit a mason jar and some freeze packs in his tote. This book has dozens of ideas for salads and other totables he can eat, and not just a table of x amount dressing on the bottom, then add y amount of hard veggies (select from table), top with z amount of soft veggies (again, select from table) and cover. It also includes about how long the recipes will hold in the fridge if packed according to their guidelines. I am really looking forward to using it. Only four stars because I don't yet know how many of the recipes will actually work.

The majority of the recipes were for one serving. Although one can multiply the amounts called for in the recipe, it seems to be a needless task. I was simply not prepared for a cookbook which featured 2/3 of it recipes for single servings. I think the information about the cookbook should have said that the recipes were for single servings.

Finally a fourth edition after one year delay.It is actually 463 pages, not the 288 as described. Third edition had 270 pages.Very comprehensive. Almost every section has been expanded.23 total sections.Very useful four pages of pediatric dosing tables of common drugs to mL per age / weight groups.I kept my dog eared 3rd edition to my side, despite having multiple PDA apps on my phone. It is so much easier to thumb through the pages and glance down for quick facts. For more detailed info, I then go to my 5mcc and UpToDate phone apps.I kept copies on desk and gave away to students who rotate through.

Great little handbook to refer back to but the print is, like, 2 or 3 font.I wish they made this in a larger format, like they make their pharma book.One star removed for the eyestrain :-)

I really like this reference. You look up hypertension and it takes you through a full plan of care on how to treat the patient which is helpful for new practitioners and experienced as well to give them an outline they can refer to. There is a nurse practitioner that has been one over 20 years and she has one of these. Great resource and I am glad I bought it.

I wish I had paid attention to one of the other reviews. The print is so small in this book, I can barely read it with a magnifying glass! The book is teeny and would fit in a breast pocket of a lab coat, but I would rather pay extra for a book with larger print which fits in a hip pocket. I am sure the content is excellent - Tarascon does produce some very useful books, however PLEASE consider making these books a little bigger!I gave the book 3 stars because I am sure it is great, BUT the size of the book and print makes it unusable for a lot of people over 40...I just bought this book, but I am going to sell it back to Amazon...

I attempted to use this as handbook while on an MS3 family medicine rotation. It does contain some useful information, but the cramped layout makes it difficult to find in a hurry (and in primary care you never have more than a couple minutes to read up between patients), and the tiny text is actually pretty difficult to read (even for someone used to reading webpages on a tiny phone screen). I used the AAFP online instead, as I had access to a computer at the clinic, and it was much more helpful than this mini-book.

good book with useful information. Kind of chunky but not terrible. Probably will be useful for the first year or two but will probably use UpToDate more.

Great information in this book that comes highly recommended. Difficult to read though as the book is VERY small.

My best reference for years. My books mysteriously disappear at work so I bought a previous edition to save costs. For most things, I prefer this edition.

SO GORGEOUS. I can't believe I'd never heard of Hanif before seeing him at a reading in March, and now I think he might be a new favorite/go-to (I'd actually gone to the reading primarily to see another favorite poet, Ocean Vuong.) I was so captivated by Hanif's reading (of new material, nothing that's in this collection), how utterly real everything felt, how finely wrought but subtle his manipulations of language were, that I just had to pick up his book. And it did NOT disappoint. Hanif's mastery of the prose poem is really something -- all the voices of his work speak so clearly, it feels like I am sitting in that barbershop, standing courtside and seeing these stories unfold, witnessing these lives and deaths. These poems are intense, dirty, and unforgettable, tackling sex, family, death, violence, music, literature...just about everything. I don't even know if I can pick a favorite -- the titular poem was an especially staggering read, but I don't think there was a single piece that I didn't love in some way. I literally hugged this to my chest after finishing it. I think I might become a Hanif-evangelist, recommending this far and wide. This book will have a special place on my shelf forever.

If Mary Oliver is the poet who channels the wildness of the natural world into images that are comprehensible to us mortals, then Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib is the poet who telescopes the Pop (Punk) landscape across streets and highways, in cars and at parties, in the barber's chair.
