Great for me. I like cords above the right hand. I have given up reading the left hand and just play cords.

The other reviewer (Rob) clearly doesn't understand the concept of a fake book. This book, as he said, has the lyrics, guitar chords and melody line--that's the definition of a "fake book"--fake books are designed for you to improv. They are not supposed to have full orchestrations or harmony lines. The whole term "fake book" comes from the old saying, "If you hum a few bars I can fake it." Most praise bands and worship teams use either this kind of "fake sheet" or they use "charts," which don't even include the melody line--just the lyrics with the chord changes above them.So, having said that, I can confidently assure you that this series of Christian fake books published by Hal Leonard is very good and an excellent value. Each book has a plethora of songs in a wide range of tempo, styles and genres. Definitely worth many times the asking price for the musician who plays by chords or improv. Definitely NOT for people who only know how to play from sheet music. If the latter describes you, steer clear, for you will surely be disappointed. You don't want a fake book. If, however, you fall into the former category, you can't go wrong here!

This book it great. I am in my third year of private piano lessons and I am able to read this book and follow along. Some of the songs are challenging but I can handle them ok

I'm new to this genre and I am so happy to have found this book! The author really pulls you in from the jump and I cannot wait to learn more about Trouble and Romeo. This is my 1st book by Shai August, so I definitely need to read her other book to get to know Imani and Ansel, but I'm officially hooked on this series!

This story is better edited and is in the line of Romeo and Juliet. The motorcycle club/wizards were great. The world building added extra layers to this world. We saw old friends and even a potential idea of how the next books my progress. Read this in under an hour. My only gripe is because it was short and we had page time for caught up with book 1 people....it left very little time to get to know Trouble and Romeo. I left with little to no idea what made them tick, especially Trouble. Trouble is a big afro wearing superpower but that's all I really know about her.

This is the second book I read by Shai August,... Romeo and Trouble's story was really short and sweet...The story is still good, didn't expect it to end the way it did💖💖💖💖

Baby...this book was everything! I cant wait for the next installation. Trouble is my NEW favorite character!!!! Im sooo here for the Romeo & Julliette!!

Quick read but it was really good! Can’t wait to see what happens next. Hopefully we will see more of Romeo and Trouble Juliette!

For the next one. Awesome series. Ms. August has created a world of wonder and heart. I want more from this series.

The book told me so many things about the American Revolution other than the battles that were fought that I read about in other books. I learned a lot about the way of life of the people during the war. I highly recommend it to readers of the American Revolution.

Well written but to someone who reads a lot of history there were not many new stories learned. Me Fleming, however, is always an enjoyable author.

Loved this book. Have read Forming before, enjoy his style of writing. What i always look for in nonfiction books is did I learn anything new? On almost every page was some tidbit that I didn't know.

Presenting a collection of essays, the author shared peeks behind the traditional narratives of America’s revolution. The form lends a bit of simplification or glossiness, while providing bite-sized insights of the intertwined themes that made whole endeavor successful. Apart, the stories seem mostly anecdotal. Together, the collection compels amazement that the United States ever came to being.

Fleming is my favorite author of the American Revolution. He has written a lot of GREAT books on it. This book feels disjointed because the 11 stories stand alone. The chapter on the Howe brothers was the most enlightening to me. And the last chapter on the Constitution. Definitely a book I recommend.

As a history buff I knew a bit about the American Revolution and the principal players. But, this book delved into the the personalities, backgrounds, motives and actions of them and other connected individuals and how they influenced the outcome of the war.

I learned much about the American Revolution that I did not know before reading this book. For example the fate of Burgoyne's captured army, and the reasons the Howe brothers conducted the war as they did.

Discover how close the United States came to remaining the United Colonies of Great Britain. A fascinating look behind the scenes of history.

Even if you have all the major photo books published about the Disney theme parks over the last several decades, thgis is still a very nice, high quality addition to any Disney books collection. I'm very happy with it.

I love everything Disney. This book with filled with interesting facts beautiful pictures. I love that is a hard back and thought it was a great price.

With stunning photography, you travel the world via Disney. Shows the celebration of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. A must-have for any Disney Theme Park nut. Count me as one of those!!

I bought this book used but it was described as used - good, helps homeschooling family. After looking over all the other buyers I choose this one because I thought it was for a good cause. When I received the book it was almost completely unattached from the the cover, just the very bottom of the spine is barely still attached to the cover. To me that should have been put in the description and not described as good... Very disappointed.

How well you will like this book depends on what your Disney "World" consists of. This was published in 2005 so there is no content from Shanghai Disneyland, and Hong Kong only has a concept sketch of its Sleeping Beauty Castle (which is identical to California's). This was published as a Walt Disney World book, and the content reflects that accordingly. If your primary Disney park interest is Walt Disney World, you will probably enjoy this book, as there are several beautiful pictures throughout, mostly publicity photos.However, if you are hoping for a true around the world tour, with content from each of the parks that (then) existed, you will be disappointed. Disneyland also merits some nice pictures; Disney Paris has a few to tease at its most unique elements (Walt Disney Studios is a no-show, but I can't blame them for that). Tokyo has very few images, with most of them being hyper-focused inset shots and criminally few of the beautiful DisneySea.The book's portraits of the other Disney resorts is very misleading and its choice of content is often questionable. Many hideous elements of the original California Adventure get huge pictures, including one of the super-uninspiring Bugs Land bumper cars. Even less-admirable efforts of WDW get coverage at the expense of DisneySea, Tokyo DIsneyland's far-superior Pooh ride (but don't worry, there are shots of WDW's weak-by-comparison version), and the beautifully designed Disneyland Paris. Why are we looking at Primeval Whirl when we could have had gorgeous pictures of Disney's international parks instead? Anyone hoping to truly compare the other parks with this book will be disappointed. This book will not give you an accurate picture of what the other parks around the world (or even in this country) are really like, and will probably confirm the suspicions of most readers that WDW is clearly the best. Although one could make that argument (in many cases I wouldn't), this is a heavily biased source that neglects to show the majority of the excellent offerings of the other Disney parks. If you enjoy WDW, go for it; if you're looking for an accurate comparison of the different parks and their offerings, go elsewhere.

Previously available as a Theme Park exclusive, this attractive hardcover volume does just what the title promised - takes you around the world with Disney. With the exception of the Hong Kong park, all of the theme parks are represented: Disneyland, Walt Disney World Florida, Tokyo and Paris. By no means a perfect book - it spends some 12 pages on the Carousels of the parks, while it only spends 8 on the various Haunted Mansions, Pirates of the Caribbean and Towers of Terror combined - it reads more like an in-park 'pictorial souvenirs' guide than a serious comparison of the parks. If you are content to simply look at pictures of the theme parks, and given how far I am from a Disneyland pictures will have to suffice for now, this is a beautifully presented pictorial of the Disney parks that is easy to recommend as a gift or a coffee table book. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a more in-depth overview of the park, you may have to look elsewhere.

How so? Well, it not only tells me formal definitions, pronunciation, and etymology, etc., but offers the best ordered (logically sequenced from most similar to most general) synonym and antonym list in the world. I can find nearly any word I have ever heard and can recognize with ease and refinement in 5 minutes; just move from general meaning to specific using the synonym list. It is much better as a thesaurus than Roget's Thesaurus (which no longer dare use due to so many failures to find a word that pleases). With this Cassell's, I very rarely miss. In October 1967, one year after the founding of the Black Panther Party, Huey Newton was involved in a shooting during which an Oakland police officer was killed. Newton spent three years in prison before being released and having his charges dismissed, and his jailing brought cries of "Free Huey" from supporters around the world. This engrossing and well-written autobiography recounts the forming of a revolutionary and shows how the degrading and psychologically destructive penal system forged Newton's already growing spirit. When Newton was a child, his father instilled in him a sense of dignity and pride; as an adolescent, he was torn between religious principles and life as a hustler; as a young man, he founded the radical Black Panther Party with Bobby Seale, and finally, in solitary confinement in the Alameda County Jail, he reached deep within himself to find the strength to face adversity; and even death without fear.

About the Author

Born the son of a Baptist minister in 1942 in Monroe, Louisiana, Huey P. Newton moved to Oakland, California, with his family at the age of three. Although functionally illiterate upon graduating from high school, he taught himself to read by studying Plato’s Republic. Newton enrolled at Oakland City College, where he campaigned successfully to have black history included in the curriculum. While at the college, he became familiar with the writings of Marx, Lenin, Frantz Fanon, and Chairman Mao. In 1966, with Bobby Seale, Newton co-founded the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, an organization in which Newton served as minister of defense. Though perhaps best known for their community street patrols, which openly displayed loaded firearms, the Black Panthers also sponsored breakfast programs for poor children and provided shoes and health care for the needy in the black community. Convicted in 1968 of manslaughter in the shooting death of Oakland police officer John Frey in 1968, Newton spent more than a year and a half in prison before his conviction was reversed. After a series of mistrials, the case against Newton was voluntarily dismissed. After reaching its high-water mark in 1970, when it claimed several thousand members, the Black Panther Party steadily declined, undermined in part by the efforts of the FBI. Accused of another murder in 1974, Newton jumped bail and spent the next three years in Cuba, after which he returned to the United States to stand trial and was acquitted of the charge. Newton earned a doctorate from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1980. He was shot to death by a gang member in 1989.

Black Panther Party for Self Defense co-founder Huey Newton has written an excellent autobiography, and, in the process, given us an even finer grained and more complete picture of the Black Panthers.The first quarter of the book is devoted to Newton’s childhood and youth up to his college years. Newton lived what might be considered a typical life of the black working class. Money was always a struggle for the Newton family, but it was an intact family and one where abuse was absent, unlike the fractured and abusive childhood and youth years of many of his comrades.The second quarter delves into the formation and emergence of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense. Because Newton was co-founder of the Party with Bobby Seale, Newton plays a large role in the early days of the Black Panthers. Seale himself was imprisoned for much of this period, so Newton and his ideas dominated.Newton and his colleagues developed a ten-point program listing its objectives and guiding beliefs. One was the exercise of the Second Amendment and called for an end of police brutality. This led to the Black Panthers organizing patrols that shadowed the police. Understandably, the police did not appreciate this attention, and one night a firefight broke out between the Black Panthers and the police. One policeman was killed and another one wounded. Newton was charged as perpetrator of both shootings.The third quarter of the book describes Newton’s 33-month ordeal of being tried *three* times for these offenses (the first two trials ending with a deadlocked jury), and his survival of incarceration. This section of the book is the most moving as Newton writes about his trials and incarceration with pathos and intensity. The final chapters of the book deal with Newton’s release from prison and his exuberant return to his community.The book is well written in a simple, accessible and engaging style. My only regret is that Newton concludes his autobiography with the defection of Eldridge Cleaver from the Black Panther Party. With so much more to tell of Newton’s life and the Black Panthers following this point, I wish Newton had published an updated version of this book, or written a sequel. The book ends on a sour note rather than on the triumph Newton’s acquittal represented.Highly recommended for those interested in the history of the Black Panthers, or, more generally, those interested in Afro-American history, or, even more generally, students of American history because the Black Panthers loom so large in American history. This book obviously was a key source for Bloom’s and Martin’s excellent history of the Black Panther Party, Black Against Empire, published in 2013.Of the Black Panther autobiographies I’ve read, this book is the best one, notwithstanding its premature ending. More than any other book, this one discusses Newton’s intellectual background for Black Panther Party activities, an important factor given Newton’s dominance over the Black Panther ideology.

In the wake of the recent deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, a critical eye has again been placed on police in America. And in light of police response to Cleveland Browns player Andrew Hawkins' support for Tamir Rice and John Crawford and the overt authoritarian attitudes of American police in general, Huey Newton's words are powerfully relevant today and an essential historical read.Revolutionary Suicide is not only an excellent firsthand account of the Black Panther Party, as Newton himself was its co-founder, but is also a gripping coming-of-age story. Newton recounts his spiritual growth and psychological maturation often philosophically starting from the uncertainty and insecurity of childhood. He directs you through his personal and political actions encompassing the stages of his development as a human being, eventually solidifying, by self-realization, his place in the world.My relationship with this book is especially sentimental because of its involvement in my own journey through adolescence into adulthood. For that reason, I recommend it to all young black men who would indubitably benefit from Huey's words as I've done ever since I first lifted the front cover.

Wow! There's so much I didn't know about this dynamic man and the Black Panther Party of Defense (BPP). The book is an easy read; however, Huey had a vast vocabulary, so be prepared to lookup the definitions of the words he used. I love that most of the chapters are short (3-6 pages) and the stories are super compelling. I'm saddened that the efforts of the BPP are still needed today in 2016.

Huey Newton gives the accounts from his eyes and point of view from childhood to Black Panther. It's like he's sitting on your couch talking to you. He brings up the good and bad. I wondered why someone of his status would resort to drugs. After reading this book I did not wonder any longer.
