The book was informative and well written, although I had hoped for a little more meat for my middle schoolers; it would work well for 4th to 6th graders, however.

This book is great! We bought it for my 10 year old to use for a school project, but it was so well written and interesting, the whole family read it!

This book looks very interesting. We are very excited to read it for school later this year. Nice pictures too.

As a broad history of Churchill's life and times, this book was acceptable, but as a biography, it lacked the personal details about Churchill himself that I was looking for. I came away with a better understanding of Churchill's role in the events of his lifetime but with very little understanding of what made him tick as a person. I wanted to get inside his head and personality, so to speak, but I didn't feel I "knew" him much better than I did before I read the book. Perhaps this lack of personality is a result of the targeted age group of young people? The book reads more like a school report of facts than a personal biography of the man himself.

Winston Churchill: Soldier, Statesman, Artist is a biography on one of the most influential men in the 20th century. I wasn't looking forward to reading this, as many biographies are often quite boring. This book, however, was very educational, easy to read, and a fun book. There are many facts that people often don't hear about Churchill (such as he came up with the idea for the tank) that are in this book. He was also a very funny man. The last section in this book is called Winston's Wit, an entire section on funny quotes and sayings by him.If you're looking for a good, educational read on Winston Churchill, this is the book for you.

The other reviews are right, this is a beautiful book full of colorful pictures. The problem is, a lot of these pictures are not informative to the ink making process and just feels like filler pages.There are only 12 recipes in this entire book. 1 recipe per color.No mention of options for colors either, so for example, if you want yellow ink, author only gives tumeric as an option. Want red? Only pokeberry is listed. Could have had a chart with other options for colors.No advanced methods like using mordants, just a short paragraph saying it's possible.I think I got just as much information in a chapter on inkmaking from The Organic Artist by Neddo as I did from this book.Pair The Organic Artist with Wild Color by Dean (a book on natural dyes) for a more informative experience.

This gorgeous hard-cover book is filled with lovely photography and useful insights. It is bound to spark new ideas and get you excited to explore this magical world - no matter if you've been making ink for years or have never given it a try. I'm SO excited someone finally wrote this book!

This is a stunning book as well as a very interesting read. I love inks and the idea that you can make your own never occurred to me. I live in the Sonoran desert and I cannot wait to start foraging for plants and flowers to make inks with. This book is a keeper!

Very informative book. Glad to see someone pulled this old trade and breathed life into it again.Will be a great reference to build on. The book design and beautiful photographer makes for a great addition to my library, but I would have been okay to have the words in a textbook format at a lesser price. But, am so glad this fellow ink maker shared what he knows. Well done..and highly recommended.

An amazing resource for collecting materials and making natural inks. Lot so of information about specific recipes and methods, which you can create with any materials ( not just the ones in the book.) I’d say this book is good for children and adults alike, and professionals... I’m an artist exploring new media and find this book inspirational and instructive. Fabulous source of information on ink making with historical references. So much more than a DIY book, and still so fun to follow and refer back to again and again.

The stated purpose of this book is to recount a curated collection of the most terrifying paranormal stories ever recorded. The author states that the events are drawn from all over the world and that all are supported by hard evidence. Included are different examples of supernatural events representative of the following categories: ghost stories; hauntings; and other parawnormal activity. The content is interesting, but this book contains many editing errors. It is plagued with odd sentence structure, improper word placement, and run on sentences in so many passages that the narrative is almost incomprehensible. Additionally, there are a number of verb tense agreement issues, misplaced words and phrases, misspellings, and other errors that detract further from readability of the narrative. I cannot recommend this book in its current state. I suggest that the author remove this book from circulation in order to rework and edit its content. The material in this ook is interesting and worthy of publishing after corrective actions are taken.

This collection is of 12 stories that are told pretty straight forward, often with a little more information than is necessary to make the story interesting. I did not find the stories particularly appealing and am amazed anyone would find them scary, as some other reviews claim.

I'm not sure who's ratings I read before I purchased this book... the author's family members maybe? There was absolutely NOTHING "horrifying" in this book, except perhaps the fact that I actually purchased it. I was desperate for something to read, or I wouldn't have bothered continuing; although I held out hope that maybe the NEXT story would be horrifying. In nearly every story, the author makes a statement like, "Is this really true? We may never know." So how in the heck is she calling these "real" ghost stories? Save your money.

I felt like it was too short. I would have loved to continue reading more ghost stories, but the book wraps up quickly, and with what I felt was not the "right" story, though it was interesting. Needs some fine tuning, focus, and expansion.

I absolutely love reading about true paranormal events. These stories send chills down my back. If you'd like the Paranormal this is a definitely good book to purchase.

I'm glad I found this book. It's so hard to find a decent, well-written collection of true ghost stories on Amazon. I've read some of these stories before, elsewhere, but there was still more than enough to keep me entertained.

This is a great book for teenagers starting to read ghost & horror stories. Bought it for my niece and she loves it.

This is a must-buy if you're trying to be healthier and lose weight. This takes all the Googling and stress out of meal planning. I know that all these recipes have ingredients that are approved Whole30, Paleo, Keto, etc. They suggest substitutions and you can also easily make a lot of these recipes in an Instant Pot for fast cooking (just dont forget to add some liquid to recipe). I am so glad I found this book, not sure how I stumbled upon it, but it really has improved the quality of my life. I used to spend the entire day trying to find recipes online, only to see that 1-2 ingredients were either really expensive, unobtainable, or didn't go along with my diet plan. OR I would go on a website for a recipe and be met with this really long explanation with pictures, would have to scroll past just to get to the recipe.

We made one of the recipes to the specifications in the recipe and the meal did not turn out even close to what it was supposed to be.

I should have looked to make sure there were pictures😒.It does nothing to inspire making ANY recipe. I won't make that mistake again.

The book has a total of 10 pics in the whole book of 140 pages. Good cookbooks have a recipe for each recipeor nearly so. This is like so many modern cookbooks in that it does not give directions for real cooking but justdump and heat, For example, most of her soups are based upon expensive canned broths. She gives directionshow to make rich stock in the back of the book but then for the most part just suggests using broth which is nothingmore than chicken, seafood or beef flavored water. Rich stocks are the basis for soups and stews.She does suggest lightly sauteeing onions in the French Onion soup but classic french onion soup is based upon slowing carmelizing the sugars in the onions in a skillet on low heat and stirring often to develop that deep rich brown color that colors the soup. She suggests if you don't have time just throw the onions in raw. This leaves their naturally occurring bitter flavor in raw onions.Then in her recipes for Beef and Mushroom Stew she suggests buying sliced mushrooms (more expensive) and then throwing them in the pot raw and cooking them for 6-8 hours. Wrong, the mushrooms would be mush and flavorless.What you do is to saute' the mushrooms in butter and you buy whole mushrooms and slice them right before cooking.You then do your long cooking time and toss in the sauteed mushrooms at the end and give them a stir and let them heat up for about 5 minutes to get that ultra rich mushroom flavor. If you buy already sliced mushrooms, you lose a whole lot of the mushroom flavor so why even put them in there if you are not trying to maximize the flavors?The reviewer is the author of the Kindle book entitled:Sex Education for Adults Secrets To Amazing Sex and Happily Ever After Too.The best review on the book is by a licensed marriage counselor who creditsthe book for saving his marriage.It is on the AASECT recommended reading list.I was recently offered a TED talk on the bookAnyone who is an accomplished cook would know this.

Love the quote in the introduction:"You can't out-exercise a bad diet!"This recipe book is for those who want to eat healthier, maintain a good weight or lose some. Maybe, like the author, you are finding out that your metabolism is slowing down as age creeps on you. Shannon, faced with this dilemma, set out to figure a way to still eat yummy foods that also kept her weight in check.Are you confused about Ketogenic, Paleo and Whole30 diets? They are all explained here and whilst this book does not follow ANY of those three diets the author has noted when her recipes are compliant to any/all of the aforementioned so VERY helpful to the followers of the above.Certain foods do not do well in a slow cooker so make sure you check the list provided. There is even a sample 7 day meal plan included.This is an EASY read with the author coming across as being very conversational. There are EIGHT recipe sections:Breakfast and Brunch * Vegetables and Sides * Soups, Stews and Chili * Meatless and Seafood * Poultry * Beef, Pork and Lamb * Desserts and Sweet Treats * Broths, Stocks and SaucesEach recipe chapter contains a list of recipes and page numbers at the beginning. There are NO pictures, bar one, except at the beginning of each chapter. (This seems to be the trend now!) Try the Granola recipe on Page 18. Yum! Yum! Clear instructions are provided. Helpful tips are at the bottom along with nutritional information.Do you have a large family? Some of the recipes feature 8 servings! NOTE: There are a LOT of cheese recipes so would not recommend this for anyone that is dairy-free. Like curry? Try the Carribbean Chicken Curry recipe. Who likes Old Bay Seasoning? Learn how to make your own in this book! Calling all garlic lovers to eat the 40-Garlic-Clove Chicken! Erythritol is the sweetener used in recipes that require a little sweetness.ABSOLUTELY LOVE the broth, stocks and sauces chapter. If you only purchase this book for this chapter it will be worth it! Wow! Now you can quit buying the processed ones and easily make your own, much healthier ones.At the end of the book you will find measurement conversion charts. For those of you not aware of the Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen are you will also find these two lists at the end. (Advice on which fruits and vegetables have the most/least pesticides.) This is followed by a recipe index and then an ingredient index. What this is, is a list to make looking up a specific ingredient contained in a recipe much easier. Say you are looking to cook with onions. Just head to 'O' and then 'Onions' and you will find all the recipes containing onions in one helpful list.I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher.
