I usually love A. R. books but lately they just haven't been up to par. I get the instalove and that the books have to move fast because they are short but there is still usually emotion and a connection that is apparent. That has been missing in the last few books. I'll continue to purchase and read A. R. for a while longer but if the connection and intensity that was present in the earlier books continues to be absent, I will have to rethink that.1 star = awful! want my money back!2 stars = bad but not horrendous3 stars = decent/good4 stars = really good! will probably read again.5 stars = excellent! definitely recommend and will definitely read again!
So I usually love anything Alexa writes but this one was a no-go for me. While there were some sweet parts, the story comes off way to creepy stalker to me. I mean first day they meet and they are both completely obsessed with each other?! His bossiness and jealousy that she finds sexy seems more signs of future verbal abuse. He is so overboard obsessed with her that it's just a little hard to swallow. He decides to completely drop his life after 2 days. And his wife who is only supposed to be a wife on paper is a horrible person and uses hatefulness disguised as concern for him. This was a disappointment.
Fans of Penny Wylder will definitely like this piece of crap, but I don’t.If you get married for a stupid reason then I’m not interested in knowing you. Now, had AR written it from the angle that he had loved her once and it just hadn’t lasted, or that he was already annulled/divorced by the time he met “The ONE†then that too would have been fine. But, No! That’s not even close to what happened.Then, the nerve to keep emphasizing that the first wife/non-wife is still a nice, good person when everything else written about her is that she is a weak, cowardly, lazy, mean selfish B*tch because she can’t stand up and fight for herself is just straight BS! Here comes book 2 to tell her story and the duplicitous lawyer who was another one just like her. I’m sorry but there is nothing likable about this cast.I’ll read book 2 for sheer nosiness. I have to finish the whole story. But no matter what spin AR puts to it, I already don’t care for this dual story and I will never read it again.
Virgin Husband is another sexy read from Alexa Riley, that will make you hot. This is the story of Aiden and Caroline, two strangers and a chance meeting that results in love. Aiden has a secret in regards to a deal he made. When the secret is revealed will it have Caroline running for the hills? This book has it all: over the top alphas, deception, steamy sex, intrigue, and above all romance. I loved this book. I thought it was exciting and naughty and look forward to the follow up, Virgin Wife. This is a must read for insta-romance lovers.
Oh my! Finally a man that is a virgin. Never been touched. I am so in love!!!!I don't know how they did it but they managed to pack a full length novel into a novella. I was pleasantly surprised. I seriously enjoyed this read. I was on the fence about Aiden's marriage to Savannah but that was extinguished very quickly. I thought it was genius to introduce Wyatt into the story (seeing how he's the H in Vigin Wife). The only part I'd change is the fact the kids had no names. I was hoping to get to know them as well. But that's just wishful thinking on my part. It didn't lessen my review.I liked Aiden and Caroline together. I loved the fact that they were both untouched. I'm starting to hate books where the H is promiscuous and jumps on every woman he sees. I just finished a book that had that written in it and I hated it. I actually gave him a bad review, well it wasn't just for that reason, but that was the main factor. The chemistry Aiden and Caroline had was off the charts hot. I enjoyed their intimate moments and loved their relationship. I liked the premise of the story but I loved the actual story better. It was written well and loved every minute of it. I liked Aiden. He was thrilling. He was sexy. He was dominated by his love for Caroline. I liked Caroline too. She has a good head on her shoulders and loved life. I am so in love with these characters.Great jobs ladies.
Aiden’s wife is a ##tch. He says you have to look deeper with her, but I don’t like what I’ve seen of her so far and won’t read her story next. Aiden and his wife let their parents control them even at this age. They say Aiden married her because he is a good person and she’s his best friend. Actually it makes him look like a wimp. Where is the alpha male we like that plays by his own rules? Now he’s found Caroline, whom he wants to spend his life with but, oh yeah, he married a friend to save her, really? Now he’s trying to get out of his stupid decision. Caroline is not worth mentioning, she’s blah. Her do Elvis was more interesting.
I absolutely loved reading my arc copy of Virgin Husband by Alexa Riley.Once again the dynamic duo has delivered another unforgettable readthat you wont be able to put down. The story was unique and excitingwith off the charts heat. The characters were loveable and had a beautifulundeniable connection. This is an absolute must read that would be a shame tomiss out on.
