This review is coming from a person who originally grew up with the Power Rangers series for the first six seasons as a child and then catching up on the rest of the series 14 years later thanks to the DVD releases. Right away we are greeted with a message from Amy Jo Johnson herself who played Kimberly Ann Hart for the first three seasons of the show with a message of shock, hope, and inspiration for how the Power Ranger legacy became a global positive phenomenon. After her kind and grateful words for what it has done to her and other people's lives we are greeted to a long journey of how the Power Rangers franchise was created from the very beginning from when Haim Saban first saw a Super Sentai show during a business trip to Japan and how that lead to an American adaption here in the United States. The book goes in depth behind the scenes of every single season that has aired (including Ninja Steel that will be ending soon) from words from the actors to a few producers including Chip Lynn himself talking about what it took to produce the show to the new format of how to create the show by splicing Japanese footage from Super Sentai with American footage and the challenges it took to make an episode and so much more. From why Valerie Vernon's character Kendrix was killed off in Power Rangers Lost Galaxy to detailing about the Titanium Ranger, Power Ranger's first American exclusive ranger with no Super Sentai counterpart you will fall in love with the show all over again on the hot topics of what happened behind the scenes and the details revolving around each season which will include numerous HD quality pictures of the sets, actors in and out of their ranger suits, concept art of sets that were made or were going to be made but went a different direction. This book serves as a reveal all book that you cannot pass up. For people like me who was a kid when Day of the Dumpster aired to people that are new to the franchise I highly recommend getting this to learn everything Power Rangers and to see that Power Rangers will always be a unique show like no other. Now fans. It's Morphin Time!

I'll first say that this book is beautiful. Lots of great, high quality pictures that are exactly the kind of thing that this kind of book should have. Indeed it lives up to the "visual" part of the title. However, this book much of the substance over the history of Power Rangers. The book does not answer the fundamental questions for the history of the series. The primary question being; why. The book mentions in the Ninja Steel chapter that ToQger was passed over in favor of adapting Ninninger for that season. Why? The book does not answer this question. In the Lightspeed Rescue chapter, it gives a brief account of why the Titanium Ranger was added, but there is no real account over the creation process of this character. And when discussing the Turbo movie, no explanation as to why plot threads from the previous season were abandoned. There is a massive lack to questions that Power Ranger fans have been wanting to know for years. The book also skips or declines to mention some significant aspects of Power Rangers history. A primary example would be the reason that David Yost, who played Billy the Blue Ranger, left the show. Yost was the target of homophobic slurs and gay bashing during his time on the series, and this was the primary reason he left the show in the fourth season. The book completely ignores this information, which is an egregious error. In fact, the book's narration is that of a positive light on the series, but does not mention any kind of controversy or problems with the series, this is especially notable with the Super Megaforce section of the book. In the end, its pretty to look at but lacks any new or significant information.

Wow! This book stinks. Don't get me wrong this is the best Power Rangers book on the market today. The amount of ink used to produce this book really will give you a contact high.As one that was older that got into the Rangers on a day I was home sick from work and business school. I was channel surfing and saw something that reminded me of Godzilla meets Transformers. From that day on I was hooked.I was able to relate to my friends kids about this new show that was the rage at the time. Over the years I collected a slew of toys, figures, computer games and even comic books. This book covers the original MM Power Rangers tv show to what will be coming in the Beast Morphers in 2019. This book covers all 25 years of the tv show and all the movies even the latest Power Rangers movie. The Shattered Grid Power Rangers comics also get a nod here. The pages are filled with brilliant color and insight to all the seasons and movies of the Rangers. Another bonus is the fact they gave little xtras glued to some pages of this book. Most collectors will not attempt to pull these xtras out of the book. Glue, paper and pulling might just ruin your book.In closing this is another great book Insight has released, maybe the best one yet. If you are a Power Rangers fan? This is the Ultimate piece of the Power Rangers history to own. This can be considered the MMPR Bible! Just awesome.

Visually nice looking book with no substance. The things they decided to tell you about each season just are not that interesting and are common knowledge things most Power Ranger fans already knew. Also, tiny little extra are put in the book in tgey worse way just having a corner randomly glued to a page and sometime covering up words and making it awkward to move to read. I own many Visual History books and this is sadly one of the worst.

So disappointed that the adhesive they used left marks or tore every place it was used 😒

If you enjoy the history of the franchise and knowing detailed behind the scenes information, this is a must buy book for you. There are concept drawings not seen before, descriptions of how easy or difficult each series was to adapt and the adaption process itself, and how life on set was.
